Job summary
Are you a qualified Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist? Do you want to be part of a welcoming, community minded charity?
Here at St Margaret's Hospice Care, a rare opportunity has arisen for a registered professional to join our dynamic team as a Lymphoedema Keyworker, managing patients with mild to moderate oedema.
This role is based in Yeovil and covers locations across the county. Full and part time hours can be considered (up to 37 hours per week) and you will join us on a permanent basis. In return, you will receive a salary of £32,413 per annum (pro rata for part time hours).
Main duties of the job
Our team provides patient-focused care to patients with lymphoedema throughout Somerset, regardless of cause. This includes patients with primary or secondary lymphoedema as well as those with advanced disease.
We also work closely with oncology nurse specialists to monitor patients at high risk of developing lymphoedema, providing education and early detection to improve outcome. We provide a wide range of treatments including compression therapy, manual lymphatic drainage, laser therapy, kinesiotaping and exercise groups.
This post would suit a registered nurse with experience in community nursing, oncology and palliative care or a physiotherapist or occupational therapist with an interest in developing their skills in lymphoedema management and who believes in our values and wants to make a positive difference by working with an innovative and respected organisation.
About us
Our mission is to provide excellent specialist palliative care for patients and support to their families. Everyone here contributes and has a part to play towards our goal. If you speak to any of our staff or volunteers, they will tell you how the patient is at the heart of everything they do. So, if you're looking for a role where you can really make a difference, working as part of a supportive team, we could be a perfect match.
