Job Description
The successful candidate must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team.
The team works extremely well together to ensure the safety of children under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager. The responsibilities will include:
1. The Edge of Care team works intensively with families where there is a risk of the child or young person entering care.
2. The service will also support children currently in care, where there is an identified plan for the child to return home.
3. The specialist team is dedicated to supporting families to stay together when it is safe and appropriate to do so.
4. The team is made up of passionate and dedicated multi-agency practitioners who practice using a restorative, relational approach, ensuring that families are fully supported to make the changes needed to care for their children and to prevent their entry into the care system.
5. The workers hold a small caseload of children, young people, and families alongside their allocated Social Worker.
6. The Edge of Care Coordinator provides line management for the Edge of Care Workers, monitors referrals to the service, and works alongside the Operational Manager to develop the service, ensuring that assessments are quality assured and there is partnership involvement.
7. Liaise with other professionals.
8. 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation).
9. 3 month Temporary Contract.
10. Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance.

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent, must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS, and be a car driver.
