Press Brake Setter Job Description Job Title: Press Brake Setter Location: Southbourne, PO10 Area Salary: £17.00 per hour Hours: 39 hours per week | Monday - Thursday (Day Shift) Job Type: Full-time / Permanent Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Press Brake Setter to join our fabrication team in Southbourne (PO10 area). The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating press brake machines to bend, form, and shape mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium to precise specifications. This is a full-time, permanent position with a 4-day workweek (Monday - Thursday, 39 hours per week), paying £17.00 per hour. Key Responsibilities: Set up and operate press brake machines (Amada, Bystronic, LVD, or similar). Read and interpret technical engineering drawings and specifications. Select and adjust tooling, dies, and backstops to achieve precise bends and angles. Carry out first-off and in-process quality checks using measuring instruments (verniers, calipers, protractors, height gauges). Work with various materials, including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, across different thicknesses. Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot setup and alignment issues. Ensure jobs are completed within set timeframes while maintaining high quality. Follow all health & safety procedures and keep a clean, organized workspace. Assist in training junior operators and supporting production improvements. Key Skills & Experience: Previous experience as a Press Brake Setter/Operator in a sheet metal fabrication environment. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Strong understanding of press brake tooling and machine adjustments. Knowledge of quality control procedures and use of precision measuring tools. Problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good time management and ability to meet deadlines. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Amada, Bystronic, LVD, or similar press brake machines. Forklift or overhead crane license (advantageous but not essential). NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Engineering/Fabrication (preferred but not required).
