What you will do in your working day
* To provide comprehensive support to the Legal and Governance Manager and Legal Support in the preparation, issue of documents and ongoing matters connected with rent possession claims, warrants for possession, anti-social behaviour claims, gas injunctions and civil injunctions .
* Process rent arrears possession applications via PCOL (online court management)
* To communicate with appropriate courts, Livin’s court agents and the instructing Team within Livin, where appropriate.
* Manage the electronic diary in relation to Court Attendance
* Arrange Court cover for when the Solicitor is on annual leave or double booked
* Liaise with the Process Server regarding injunctions
* Complete routine legal research and present information in response to requests from others under supervision
* Assist with the initial review of legal documents for example witness statements, meeting notes, contract reviews, lease agreements, bundles and produce varied correspondence
* Produce first drafts of legal documents and proofread documents under supervision using digital tools
* Manage own workload using digital management systems and undertakes review of casework to ensure progression is maintained and problems identified and escalated appropriately
* To provide comprehensive support to the Solicitor and Legal Support in matters relating to Preserved Right to Buy and Right to Acquire.
* Demonstrate the ability to communicate to a high and accurate standard to legal requirements and procedures with interested parties.
* To assist in the administrative process associated with the legal requirements in checking, opening, and progressing PRTB and RTA applications.
* To raise Purchase Orders for goods and services where necessary for the Team, liaising with the Income Team as necessary
* Send and retrieve document archive storage boxes from Restore
* To assist the team in responding to CRM enquiries in the relevant timescales
* Maintain and update relevant registers, any ICT systems used by the Team including website content management and online intranet pages (Sharepoint).
* Assist the Legal & Governance Manager with the collation of performance management related data (including Pentana Iris)
* Facilitate arrangements training events; booking transport where required using the most cost-effective manner in accordance with the expenses policy.
The training you will be getting
* To study and complete an NVQ Level 3 Paralegal qualification
* The course offers a variety of delivery methods including face to face from Bede Sixth Form in Billingham, remote learning, or a hybrid approach and will be delivered one day a week.
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
* Legal and Governance Team roles. Subject to review and progress, further funded degree level training can be offered following the apprenticeship through the Chartered Governance Institute (UK and Ireland).
