Head of Air Traffic Services
Red Sky Personnel is seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional to lead our client's Air Traffic Services team.
The successful candidate will oversee the safe and efficient operation of Air Traffic Services, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Main Purpose of the Job:
The Head of Air Traffic Services is accountable to the Operations Director for the safe and efficient operation of the Air Traffic Service within the vicinity of Oxford Airport and local airspace.
The role demands adherence to Common Requirements ATM, UK CAA, and associated regulatory requirements.
Main Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain policies and procedures to effectively manage the Air Traffic operation at Oxford Airport, including the reporting and monitoring of Significant Safety Critical Events (SCEs), QMS, Just Culture, and Best Practice.
* Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
* Implement and maintain the Safety Management System (SMS) within ATC, including conducting Gap Analysis to develop SMS strategy within ATC.
* Identify and ensure that ATC staff members are trained, qualified, and competent to carry out their duties.
* Maintain an acceptable and compliant level of staffing during airport operating hours, adhering to working time restrictions set by the regulator.
* Act as the main liaison with the CAA on matters related to Air Traffic Services.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for all aspects of ATC engineering and maintenance.
* Establish necessary resources and financial controls to operate a compliant Air Traffic function.
* Participate in airport meetings as required.
* Report Air Traffic Services safety issues to the Operations Director in a timely manner.
* Serve as the accountable manager for providing services in accordance with the UTP, UCS, and Meteorological documents.
* Approve the ATE contracted providers' Engineering Manager.
* Notify the ATE Engineering Manager at the earliest opportunity of proposed projects or developments that may impact Air Traffic Services equipment.
* Ensure that contracted personnel responsible for ATE receive suitable training according to the contracted provider's training and competency scheme.
Hours: 40 hours per week - Occasional unsociable hours may be required to meet business demands.
Location: Office-based in Kidlington with the requirement for monthly visits to South-West London, or as required.
