We invite applications for maternity leave cover for the post to provide specialist respiratory care as part of our DAIRS team at UHD and participate in the development and implementation of our Respiratory virtual ward.
The Dorset Adult Integrated Respiratory Service (DAIRS) provides care to patients with a variety of chronic respiratory diseases. The role is diverse, and the emphasis is on providing compassionate care to patients and their families through admission avoidance, supported discharges from hospital and specialist clinics. The service delivers care to patients in their own homes as well as in the hospital setting so there is an expected level of autonomy whilst working as part of the wider team.
The NHS are introducing virtual wards to support more people at the place they call home. Virtual wards support patients who would otherwise be in hospital to receive the acute care, monitoring and treatment they need. This includes preventing admission into hospital and supporting early discharges out of hospital.
