In this role you will utilise your analytical skills to constantly drive and support improvements to our regional portfolio’s, by providing data led insights to our underwriting, sales and management teams. This will involve the analysis of multiple data sources using different techniques. The successful candidate will have a positive, enthusiastic, can do attitude and an inquisitive nature. You will be part of a team that is key to supporting our Retail business by delivering data and insights to enable us to reach our growth targets in the provision of risk and insurance solutions for our customers. Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you may need. “What will I be doing?” This role will cover a wide range of tasks and projects, ensuring that you will have varied day to day challenges. You’ll be reporting directly into the Regional Underwriting Leader, and working closely with the local Portfolio Underwriting Team and the National Insights team, as well as Management, Sales and Market Underwriting teams. Examples of some key deliverables are below: Delivering insight into Line of Business sensitivities and hotspots. Working with Underwriting Leadership to develop Line of Business strategies & plans. Using data to delve into underlying trends. Reviewing Data quality and ensuring processes are delivering the right insight. Working with the RUL and Portfolio team to discuss local and national actions and strategy changes. Exposure analysis - business mix, checks and reviews. Reviewing broker account performance relating to all metrics. “What will I need?” An inquisitive and proactive mindset is an absolute key skill needed for the role. The ability to influence and communicate effectively with all levels of stakeholders A degree of independence and resilience as well the ability to work within a Team environment, building networks and a stakeholder community. An insurance background and an awareness of the retail marketplace would be preferred but is not essential as training and support will be provided. The ability to use multiple systems to obtain and analyse portfolio performance data. You should be happy to challenge processes and decisions. You’ll naturally adapt your style to different workloads and pressures and be able to think on your feet. Strong on execution and be able to support others to ensure success.
