The Role:
As Mechanical Services Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing all mechanical systems across the organisation’s estate. You’ll ensure these vital assets are maintained to the highest standards, keeping everything running smoothly, efficiently, and in line with regulations.
Day-to-day, you’ll:
Take ownership of mechanical assets, including Air Conditioning units, Air Handling Units, Gas Systems, Fire and Smoke Dampers, Heating Systems (boilers, calorifiers), Sewage Pumps, Generators, and more
Oversee planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring minimal downtime and compliance with legislation
Provide expert advice and guidance on best practices for reactive maintenance and repairs
Manage and support an in-house team of Plumbing & Heating Engineers, offering leadership and technical guidance
Use the Facilities Management system (Planon) to track and analyse maintenance work, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively
What we’re looking for:
✔ Proven experience managing mechanical services in a complex environment
✔ Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering services, including HVAC systems
✔ NEBOSH or IOSH qualified (or working towards)
✔ Solid understanding of compliance areas like asbestos and legionella control
✔ A confident leader with excellent communication and problem-solving skills
