Job Description
We are seeking a versatile Project Engineer to be based on-site, acting as our eyes and ears on the ground. This role is a blend of commissioning management, project coordination, and engineering responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have experience of working on HVAC projects (ideally Datacentres or other mission critical projects but not essential) with demonstrable experience of either Mechanical or Electrical engineering, adept at managing various aspects of the project from delivery to handover, ensuring smooth operations, and serving as the primary liaison between the remote Project Manager our on-site teams, other contractors/stakeholders and the general contractor.
THE ROLE:
* Site Coordination & Management:
* Coordinate and inspect deliveries between the factory and the client's site, ensuring timely and accurate receipt of our units.
* Monitor, track, and manage commissioning labour resources, ensuring optimal utilisation and efficiency.
* Supervise installation, commissioning & cleaning activities by leading subcontractors and local Service and Commissioning Teams.
* Act as the organisation's representative on-site, assume a lead position in serving as the primary point of contact at the site between FläktGroup and General contractors / other Stakeholders / client.
* Attend on-site meetings (morning and afternoon) as required, ensuring effective communication and alignment with project objectives.
* Arranging inductions of site personnel/ visitors as required.
* Reporting & Documentation:
* Report directly to the Project Manager, providing weekly/monthly progress reports and updates.
* Monitor quality and snag issues, escalating them as required through the internal quality system, assigning them to the client and/or liaising with the clients QA team.
* Upload commissioning paperwork to the client's portal, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
* Ensuring all project Health and Safety paperwork is completed and submitted on time so commissioning works can proceed without delay.
* Carrying out safety audits as required by the project.
* Maintaining all site records and logs of equipment inspections, audits, etc.
* Project Planning & Execution:
* Manage site resources to ensure that commissioning activities are carried out efficiently and effectively. Raising any potential shortfall in resource requirements to the project manager in a timely manner.
* Plan weekly/monthly work and commissioning schedules in alignment with the client's program.
* Ensure all works carried out align with the project scope, avoiding scope creep or deviations.
* Support the commissioning team with day-to-day coordination on-site, ensuring smooth operations and timely project execution.
* Managing Health and Safety to ensure work is carried out safely in line with FläktGroup's, client and General Contractor expectations.
* Budget & Quality Control:
* Assist the Project Manager in ensuring the project remains within budget, identifying potential cost overruns or saving opportunities.
* Monitor on-site operations for quality, ensuring all works meet or exceed the set standards and addressing any quality issues promptly.
* Team Collaboration & Support:
* Collaborate closely with all on-site teams/stakeholders/client, providing guidance, support, and coordination to ensure efficient project execution.
* Act as a bridge between the remote Project Manager and on-site teams, ensuring clear communication and understanding of project objectives and deliverables.
YOUR PROFILE:
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Proven experience in project engineering, commissioning management, or project coordination, preferably on-site (3-5 years).
* Already working as a supervisor on site.
* Fluent in English both verbal and written.
* Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
* Ability to work independently while maintaining close communication with remote teams.
* Proficient in relevant software and tools for reporting, documentation, and project management (P6).
