Your Role
From day one, you’ll have your own caseload. As a team, we are dedicated to improving our client’s quality of life.
You’ll join Senior Associate, Sarah Sharples, and her team who has a wealth of expertise in complex and high value cases acting for clients in a variety of claims including Birth Injury Claims, Spinal Injury Claims, Fatal Claims & Inquests, and Misdiagnosis. Sarah is passionate about achieving access to justice for anyone injured through medical negligence and delivering exceptional client care.
You’ll have a track record of proactively managing your own diverse case load whilst assisting other senior fee earners with high value, complex cases. You’ll be able to identify other legal solutions that may add value to your client’s journey.
About You
1. Be 2-4 years PQE, having experience of handing Medical Negligence claims (essential)
2. Be highly organised having developed your ability to track and manage your workload independently whilst keeping those you assist, up to date.
3. Be committed to delivering exceptional client service and in doing so, be authentically approachable, empathetic and caring with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families
4. Conduct thorough investigations and gather evidence to support claims.
5. Feel comfortable providing expert legal advice to clients, ensuring they are fully informed throughout the process.
6. Draft legal documents including, not limited to, funding paperwork, court applications, court documents, witness statements, instructions to counsel and instructions to experts.
7. Feel comfortable with your own advocacy and be able to represent clients in court and at mediation sessions.
8. Work collaboratively with other solicitors and support staff to achieve the best outcomes for clients.
9. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant case law.
10. Have commercial awareness and be alive to the Northwest market
11. Have a keen interest in business development, ideally demonstrating examples of your past contribution to business development and be able to talk about regional markets
12. Be able to work collaboratively and independently
13. Thrive in a pressurised environment

15. Commit to an office environment in accordance with client and business need
