Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Technical Author to join our team at {company}. As a Technical Author, you will play a pivotal role in creating, modifying, and maintaining technical documentation for our equipment sold globally.
You will work closely with various departments, including Design, Controls, Manufacturing, Sales, Technical Support & Service, to develop comprehensive and accurate manuals that reflect the latest information about our equipment.
An additional key responsibility will be compiling drawing packs for the production team with clear instructions on how to assemble the machines.
* Create and maintain technical manuals containing essential information, such as assembly drawings, controls screens, schematics, bill of parts, spares lists, and operating instructions.
* Conduct research, analyze, and understand the latest machinery standards, material specifications, and Controls requirements.
* Assist production with minor assembly queries.
* Take photographs and videos of machines when required for record-keeping and to aid re-assembly after transportation.
* Compile electronic drawing folders with individual part drawings for the purchasing department when an assembly is issued.
We expect the ideal candidate to have a background in technical writing, preferably within a manufacturing or engineering business. You should have experience with CAD systems, ERP/MRP systems, and be proficient in MS Office products. Additionally, you will have gained an understanding of engineering principles.
This position offers a competitive salary of $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, along with opportunities for growth and professional development in a dynamic environment.
