Job summary The Medical Director Medical Education (MDME) provides leadership, strategic direction and vision for the assurance, management, and delivery of postgraduate and undergraduate medical education across UHDB. The post holder is responsible for the quality of the learning environment for all medical learners and is accountable directly to the Executive Chief Medical Officer. A key focus will be to work in partnership with the University of Derby to support them in their application to develop a medical school, including the co-development of a clinical curriculum. In addition, as a member of Executive Chief Medical Officer's Senior Medical Leadership Team, the post holder will provide advice and support across the whole of the Executive Chief Medical Officer's portfolio and, alongside the site-specific Medical Directors, deputise for the Executive Chief Medical Officer as required. Main duties of the job The MDME is required to:Provide strategic direction on the delivery of undergraduate medical, postgraduate medical and postgraduate dental education in the Trust. Deliver strong and effective governance to undergraduate and postgraduate medical education within the Trust.Maintain and develop the profile of medical education and promote high quality education throughout the organisation. Develop and implement a strategy for the delivery of medical and dental education and training which supports the NHS Long Term Workforce.
