Position Overview:
We are looking for an Interim Finance Director to join Advania UK for an initial 6-month term. This is a day-rate position reporting into our CFO. We envisage the role will fall inside of IR35, although the role has the potential to convert to permanent based on business need.
Our UK business has recently doubled in size and is undergoing an exciting transition in the way that we operate. This position will be responsible for overseeing the stability and growth of our financial reporting as we transition into a stronger control environment.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who possesses a blend of people leadership and change management capability, alongside the requisite finance skill set.
Responsibilities:
* Financial Planning and Risk Management: Develop and implement financial plans and processes to support the company's growth. Develop financial risk management processes. Forecast capital requirements, identify monetary resources, and create action plans.
* Appropriate Internal Control Environment: Implement a framework for an internal control environment suitable for an increasingly complex finance set-up. Ensure regulatory compliance and an environment that can be successfully audited and results in a straightforward due diligence process if it were to occur.
* Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and management of financial reports, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to stakeholders. Monitor financial performance and initiate corrective actions as needed.
o Reduce time to report from 7 days to 5 days.
o Oversee audit plan and implement additional interim reporting.
o Liaise with Group finance resource and implement changes to reporting internally to ensure compliance with Group reporting deadlines.
* Budgeting and Forecasting: Manage the budget and forecasting processes, providing financial direction and assisting in strategic decisions. Conduct forecast analysis and report to upper management.
* Compliance: Ensure compliance with local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation, consulting with outside advisors, and filing financial reports.
* Team Support: Nurture and support a team of finance and accounting professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience:
The right candidate for this role will have the following:
* Proven experience as a Finance Director or similar role.
* Demonstrable experience in improving reporting timelines and control environment.
* In-depth knowledge of corporate finance, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
* Excellent analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in financial management software such as Cognos, VENA, and Business Central is desirable but is not essential to apply.
Hybrid working:
