Axcis Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in South Bristol, supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This is a full-time, term-time only role (8:30-3:30, Monday to Friday), offering a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs.
The Role:
1. Supporting pupils with a variety of SEND, including Autism, learning difficulties, and complex needs.
2. Providing both 1:1 and small-group support to help children access the curriculum.
3. Assisting with personal care and sensory needs where necessary.
4. Creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment.
5. Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other staff to implement tailored support strategies.
The Ideal Candidate:
1. Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND is desirable but not essential.
2. A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting pupils with additional needs.
3. A willingness to assist with personal care and other aspects of pupil wellbeing.
4. The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
5. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
