HR Manager
Salary: £40,000
Hours: 40 hours per week, Mon - Fri, 9am – 5.30 pm
My client is a fast-growing is large insurance company based in Chorley. We are looking to recruit an experienced and diligent Senior HR Manager reporting directly to the Group COO. You will be responsible for providing a high standard of HR and employee relations management and support across the Group business, ensuring excellent working relationships with employees, colleagues, third parties and internal teams. Dealing with over 100 employees.
Key Responsibilities
• Overall control and development of the HR function within the group
• Presenting and maintaining the HR function with confidence and clarity
• Supporting and advising colleagues on HR situations as they may develop ensuring outcomes are compliant and the effects on the business are mitigated
• Confidential and protected conversations with mediation efforts to avoid formal outcomes
• Ensure HR policies, procedures, guidelines contained in the Company handbook are up to date and clear.
• Email inbox management and maintenance
• Coherent written and verbal communication ability
• Having an awareness and understanding of Corporate/legislative requirements
• End to end control of Starters/Movers/Leavers process; coordinating Line managers, IT, marketing and employees via 365 and Outlook
• Advising and supporting Line Managers with recruitment process
• Controlling Appraisal and salary review process
• Role profiles; creation and update.
• Contracts/role Changes
• Employee digital files; system creation and maintenance
• Payroll preparation, checking and accurate submission to payroll providers for group businesses to a deadline driven monthly timescale.
• Pension Scheme Administration
• Ability to manage TUPE changes
• Sickness absence management
• Advising and Supporting performance management
• Training Retention agreements
Experience and Skills
• CIPD qualified or QBE minimum 5 years in a senior HR management role
• Confidentiality, discretion, impartiality and professionalism
• Customer service and interpersonal skills, ability to guide others and engage with employees and colleagues at all levels
• Working knowledge of legal terminology to understand and interpret legal advice when sought, knowledge of employment law and how to apply legislation.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
• The ability to deliver bad news professionally, compliantly yet compassionately.
• Strong listening and problem solving skills
• Attention to detail and diligence
• Able to work independently and under own initiative
