Direct reports: Finance and IT Teams Scope Of Role The Finance Director / Business Unit (BU) Controller for AMETEK Airtechnology Group is a Director level position that oversees Financial Reporting, the finance function and IT. The Finance Director drives the financial strategy and leadership of the business and serves as the key interface with the Corporate finance teams across AMETEK (US-based publicly traded company). Main Duties/Responsibilities Partner with the DVP BU Manager/ MD and wider leadership team to deliver the KPIs and transform the business. Ensure financial statement accuracy and IT support across the locations of the Group, including the UK, Serbia, and India, in accordance with AMETEK policies and procedures. Provide management with financial reports while adhering to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing calendars and processes. Deliver periodic forecasts and an annual budget by engaging appropriate department managers and staff members, and preparing necessary supporting documentation and justification in accordance with Corporate reporting formats and requirements. Make strategic recommendations via sound analyses to optimise revenue growth, improve working capital performance, and drive operating profit year over year. Prepare detailed analyses of financial performance, including sales and gross profit margin by customer and by sku; provide recommended actions for improvement; provide return on investment analyses on major projects, as required. Maintain effective internal control environment of all business unit operations and locations to ensure continued control and protection of its assets and an accurate reporting of its financial position. Work proactively and collaboratively with business unit functional leaders to solve problems and advise on how business actions may affect the financials. Provide strategic and technical guidance to the Airtechnology Group in the preparation, consolidation and analysis of the business accounts; including the statutory accounts. Monitor payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting and cost accounting functions to ensure process controls are efficient and effective. Ensure proper financial and IT compliance across the organization, including internal controls (US Sarbanes Oxley 404 (SOX)) and cyber security; support all internal and external audit requirements, and perform testing and compliance as required. Implement new processes (e.g. Lean) and reporting where necessary to improve financial and IT reporting procedures Act as primary financial interface between Airtechnology and the Aerospace & Defence Division and Corporate. Provide regular and completely transparent updates to all stakeholders, including Divisional VP of Finance and the Corporate Finance team. Serve as functional line management of the IT Manager and engage with corporate IT to ensure full compliance and resilience of the IT infrastructure. Recruit, train, supervise, develop and lead finance department staff and conduct annual performance evaluations. Assist, as needed, in ongoing assessment of the Human Resources (HR) departmental requirements (interview, hire, promote, discipline, discharge) ensuring fairness and consistency is maintained. This is a key leadership role for AMETEK Airtechnology Group and will regularly have the DOA for DVP BU Manager / MD. Other Responsibilities/Non-essential Functions Undertake training that is identified as a requirement of the role as identified by the role Manager. Undertake all other reasonable requests that are made by the role manager/acting manager. At times of reduced department staff attendance there will be a need to be flexible and provide support outside of the normal tasks of the job to ensure customer satisfaction. On occasion you maybe required to take on ad hoc duties which includes, but is not limited to training, department associated tasks and brief secondment to other departments. Education And Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance is required 7 years of experience in general and/or plant accounting, including an understanding of forecasting, budgeting, costing, and inventory control Experience in a multisite manufacturing environment, preferably with global presence 5 years of proven ability to lead a financial team Demonstrated knowledge of technical accounting, including Revenue Recognition Exposure to and/or involvement with US GAAP financial reporting Standard Company Responsibilities Take responsibility for understanding the Business Management System/SOP and how it is applied to the role.
