SEND Teacher - PMLD/ ASC

£600-£800 Per Week (PAYE - No Umbrella Company)
Are you a specialist SEND teacher? Do you have experience of teaching learners with PMLD? Do you have experience of teaching in a special needs school and are looking for a change of role? New Directions Education is working in partnership with a special school in Swinton that caters for secondary and FE learners with SEND needs such as: PMLD, SLD, ASC & SEMH. The ideal SEND teacher will have specialist experience - and be available full-time (5 days per week) or part-time (4 days a week).
As a SEND Teacher you'll be expected to:
* To have a solid understanding of SEND and specifically PMLD;
* Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment.
* Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges.
* Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation.
* Maintain discipline.
* Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupil's development.
* Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area.
* Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum.
* Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.
To apply the candidate must have:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Experience of working in a SEND school or a SEND class within a mainstream school
* Knowledge of SEND
* Able to provide Referees
* An up-to-date DBS Check (or be willing to obtain one)
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
