This opportunity is with an early-stage, VC-backed mobile charging business based in Bicester, UK, with global ambitions. The business is building a hardware-as-a-service proposition for commercial megafleets, to provide agile infrastructure that reinvents charging, beyond the grid.
We’re looking for a professional and driven individual to lead the technology and engineering function, ensuring the highest quality standards across all products. This role encompasses the full technology lifecycle, from strategy and roadmap development to overseeing the execution and integration of innovative charging solutions. As CTO, you will drive the transformation from traditional mechanical engineering to a connected, smart-hardware approach, delivering solutions that integrate mechanical, electrical, and software elements. As a member of the Leadership Team, you will directly impact the company’s growth and future direction.

KEY BACKGROUND, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE
•Qualifications: Degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field; advanced degrees (MSc, MBA) preferred.
•Senior Technology Leadership: Demonstrated experience in a senior engineering or technology leadership role with full responsibility for technology strategy and execution.
•Cross-Disciplinary Expertise: EVSE, HV energy systems, power electronics, BMS, charging, smart devices and IoT, and capable of navigating mechanical, electrical, and digital engineering domains.
•Roadmap Development: Proven ability to create and execute long-term technology roadmaps that support business objectives.
•Product and Technology Alignment: Experience working with product teams to align technology development with customer and business needs.
•Outsourcing and Partnership Management: Track record of managing outsourced development and external partners to deliver complex engineering projects.
•Team Leadership: Experience in building and leading high-performance engineering teams, ideally within a scale-up or fast-paced environment.
