Job Title: Managing Director - PropTech/Real Estate

Our client is a mission-led housing delivery group of companies working at the intersection of property, technology, and social impact. They partner with local authorities and commercial organisations to acquire and renovate affordable homes, leveraging proprietary technology, streamlined processes, and private finance to deliver affordable housing at scale. With over 500 homes delivered to date, a growing team across the UK and India, and certified B Corporation status, they are entering a new phase of strategic growth.
The Role
They are seeking a Managing Director to take ownership of the operational delivery of their strategic plan. Working closely with the CEO, the MD will be responsible for building the internal infrastructure, team capability, and processes required to scale the business sustainably and efficiently. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with proven experience in scaling operations, introducing structure into high-growth environments, and managing cross-functional teams. The MD will lead the business day to day, driving execution, embedding systems, supporting a high-performance culture, and representing the company with professionalism and impact.
Note: This role will not be responsible for setting strategic direction or leading on direct sales but will have oversight of all business functions, including sales and marketing, to ensure strong alignment and performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Operational Leadership: Lead the day-to-day operations of the business, ensuring all departments are aligned and delivering against strategic goals.
* Team Building & Management: Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing teams across all core functions including acquisitions, delivery, finance, and tech.
* Structure & Systems: Design and implement scalable processes and organisational structures that support rapid, sustainable growth.
* Performance Management: Build a culture of accountability and excellence through clear KPIs, operational reporting, and team feedback loops.
* Sales & Marketing Oversight: Provide leadership and direction to the sales and marketing functions, ensuring targets are met and aligned to the wider business plan, without direct sales responsibility.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster seamless communication and integration across the UK and India teams, maintaining consistency in quality and culture.
* Technology Integration: Champion the use of proprietary technology to maximise transparency, efficiency, and delivery consistency.
* Company Representation: Act as a senior spokesperson for the business, representing the business at events, on stage, in interviews, and in the media. Must be a confident public speaker with the ability to articulate the company’s mission, values, and impact to varied audiences.
* Board & CEO Reporting: Work closely with the CEO and report to the Board on delivery, operational performance, and resourcing.
What We're Looking For
* Experience as a Managing Director, COO, or senior operational leader in a scaling business—ideally in PropTech, housing, real estate, or impact-driven sectors.
* Proven ability to grow and structure teams in high-growth environments.
* Strong people leadership skills and a track record of managing cross-functional and multi-site teams.
* Operationally strong, with excellent process-building, implementation, and reporting experience.
* Confident and polished communicator, comfortable speaking from stage, participating in panels, and representing the business publicly.
* Familiarity with tech-enabled delivery models or digital transformation is a plus.
