Comfortable working within a geographically distributed team Daily Role Requirements This is a hands-on role for an Azure Technical Architect who wants to be part of a new portfolio and product driven organisation and influence the design, development, build and ongoing upkeep of ISG’s digital transformation. You will be within a team of Technical Architects, expanding on conceptual high-level designs from our Portfolio Strategists and Product Owners and will transform these into detailed low-level designs for our cloud engineers to build against. The role is cloud focused but project deliveries can be varied including working with some of our key vendors including Microsoft, Tenable, CrowdStrike and Z-Scaler. Cloud Solution Design: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable and secure Azure solutions. Design and architect cloud-based solutions, leveraging Azure services and technologies to meet performance, reliability, and security requirements. Azure Infrastructure Design: Architect and design Azure infrastructure components, including virtual networks, storage, and compute resources. Review and optimize Azure services such as Virtual Machines, Azure SQL Database, Azure Kubernetes Service, and others. Security and Compliance. Ensure that Azure solutions meet industry security standards and compliance requirements. Implement security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and network security Performance Optimization: Review, analyse and optimise the performance of Azure solutions to meet or exceed defined service-level agreements. Implement monitoring and logging solutions to proactively identify and address performance issues. Automation and DevOps: Develop and implement automation scripts and templates for provisioning and managing Azure resources. Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate Azure services into continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Portfolio Owners, Portfolio Strategists, Product Owners, Cloud engineers, System Administrators, and Security Professionals, to ensure seamless integration of Azure and cloud solutions. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members. Skills & experience Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Previous experience working in an equivalent-sized company. Proven extensive experience as a Cloud Solutions Architect, with specialist experience in Microsoft Azure. In-depth knowledge of Azure services and architecture, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings. Strong understanding of security best practices and compliance standards in the cloud including Cyber Essentials and ISO 27001 Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, ARM templates, Terraform). Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Experience in working with our key vendors such as Tenable, Z-Scaler, Crowdstrike and Azure is beneficial. Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (305) or equivalent certifications highly desired. Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ104) is highly recommended. Microsoft Certified: Azure Networking Engineer (AZ700) is highly recommended.
