The Oncology unit at the Cancer Care Centre is looking for a forward-thinking and enthusiastic nurse to join our friendly team in helping us to drive forward the chemotherapy service at the Cancer Care Centre.
The successful candidate will join an established team who are working hard to develop the services we offer to our patients in the Wigan borough.

The post is for 22.50 hours per week based at the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary and is a permanent post.
All candidates will be required to show evidence of their original certificates to the interview panel.
The role will require you to work across all areas in the Trust, which includes those that are designated as positive, asymptomatic, and negative COVID wards.
Main duties of the job
To provide a high-quality service to those patients who attend the Cancer Care Suite for chemotherapy and other supportive treatments (including complementary therapies).
Job responsibilities
* Provide a supportive role within the Chemotherapy unit for nursing, medical, and clerical staff.
* Give a clear and accurate update at change of duties and ensure accurate documentation of nursing interventions.
* Support and assist in the induction/training of junior staff/health care assistants acting as a mentor to designated staff.
* Assist in the general housekeeping duties of the unit.
* Correct care and custody of controlled drugs and aid the safe storage of medicines and the return of any unused chemotherapy to pharmacy.
* Assist medical staff with procedures as necessary.
* Maintain accurate records in keeping with the data protection act.

* Ability to travel between hospital sites.
