We are looking to recruit a Cleaning Operative to join our existing facilities team working at Highfield Leadership Academy in Blackpool. The Academy provides a safe, modern working environment for pupils, staff, and our team. Reporting to the Area Cleaning Supervisor you will be responsible for supervising and undertaking the cleaning of designated areas within each property ensuring they are kept in a clean and hygienic environment.
The role is term time only (with 4 weeks deep clean), hours 3.30pm until 5.30pm Monday to Friday (10 hours per week).
Additionally, you will be involved in numerous tasks including but not limited to:
1. Cleaning, washing, sweeping, vacuum cleaning, emptying of litter bin, polishing and dusting of the designated areas (which may include toilets and shower areas), and fixture and fittings, using where appropriate, powered equipment.
2. Movement of items of furniture.
3. All duties must be carried out to comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act; Acts of Parliament, statutory and company instruments and regulations and other legal requirements.
4. Relieve and assist in other establishments in certain circumstances.
5. Attending and taking all necessary action, statutory and otherwise in the event of accident, fire, loss, theft, lost property, damage, unfit food or other irregularities and complete the necessary return and/or reports.
6. Attending meetings as requested.
7. Duties may vary between term and closure periods.
8. Ordering of stock on a monthly basis, input of wages and managing staff on a daily basis.
9. Responsibility of locking and securing the premises as and when required.
10. Practically covering cleaning roles when absences cannot be covered by the Relief cleaning operative.
11. Following COSHH guidelines when carrying out your duties using cleaning chemicals
12. Ensuring all staff have the correct materials and equipment.
13. Ensuring all cleaning materials and stock are at optimum levels.
14. Other duties as requested by senior management.
15. Keeping up to date with current legislation and educate site based teams, updating EWFM paperwork and site based files.
16. To ensure the Company accountancy, required documentation and administration procedures are carried out to the required standard.

It is essential that you have worked in a similar role and have worked in a customer facing setting and are able to motivate and support a team.
This role is subject to completion and satisfactory outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check (DBS).
