Housing Disrepair File Handler
Job Description:
A Housing Disrepair file handler is required for an excellent opportunity with a vibrant law firm based in Blackburn.
You will be responsible for the receipt of the initial instructions and initial matter creation, along with associated checks to support risk assessment.
Primary Duties:
1. Logging Clients signed Forms of Authority and Completed Questionnaire on the Case Management System
2. Requesting and logging required documentation from the Client
3. DSAR Reviews
4. First port of contact with client
5. Booking and arranging Client appointments
6. Preparing a Letter of Claim
7. Preparing Part 36/Calderbanks for both client and defendant
8. All necessary calls and correspondence with the Client and third parties in the initial stages of the Clients claim
Management of incoming work source email inboxes.
Attributes & Competencies Required:
1. Good interpersonal and communication skills to interact confidently with both staff and members of the public
2. English GCSE (grade 9-1, A-C or Key Skills Level 2 or equivalent)
3. Law degree/graduate
4. Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft applications
5. Proven ability to plan, manage and prioritise workloads
6. Flexible approach to working
7. Working as part of a team and using own initiative
8. Attention to detail
9. Capability to undertake all assignments in a timely manner
10. Knowledge of GDPR and Data Protection
Desirable:
1. Previous administrative experience including excellent client care skills across different platforms, including telephone, email and written correspondence
