Let us introduce the role AWE is currently recruiting for an Engineering Team Leader to join a growing and ambitious team within the Test and Analysis Group. The Nuclear Threat Reduction (NTR) Engineering Team provide mechanical and electrical engineering support to design, manufacture, assemble and maintain the unique and bespoke hardware required to enable the training of both internal and external customers. Due to the number of customers and the wide variety of projects, this is a varied and fast paced environment. The successful candidate will lead our engineering design team (nominally fifteen members of staff) in the development and safe implementation of these innovative engineering solutions. You will grow the capability and inspire and motivate your team, aligning their efforts with the organisation's strategy, while driving operational excellence and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Fully integrated and responsible for the day to day running, you will help support the team’s performance and wellbeing, the management and maintenance of the hardware and lead projects. Who are we looking for? We do need you to have the following: A degree level qualification/experience in a scientific or STEM discipline. Proven experience in a similar engineering leadership role.
