The Estates Department provides a comprehensive maintenance, repair, and installation service of the buildings, grounds, engineering services, and associated equipment throughout the Trust. This requires any appointed candidate to be flexible in their approach to working hours based on the needs of the trust.
You must have served a recognised Mechanical or Building Services apprenticeship and gained wide experience in building engineering services and plant maintenance, with a City and Guilds level 3 qualification plus equivalent experience in a mechanical maintenance environment.
You must hold a current UK (manual) driving licence and reside within half an hour's normal travel time to fulfil on-call duties.
The role is Monday - Friday with participation in an emergency on-call rota plus opportunities for overtime.
Salary - £29,970 - £36,483 pa, plus local RRP (£3,277 pa), with an additional on-call retainer, overtime, starting with 27 days holiday leading to 33 days, pension scheme plus many NHS discount benefits and training opportunities.

Qualifications
Essential
* HNC in Building services plus specialist training and experience to graduate level, or equivalent gained through a relevant apprenticeship plus additional specialist knowledge and experience gained through specialist training, short courses, and C.P.D.
* Authorised/Responsible and/or Competent Person in one or more of the following specialisms: LV Electrical Systems, HV Electrical Systems, Heating and Ventilation Systems, Decontamination, Safe Water Systems, Medical Gas Pipeline Systems (MGPS), Confined Spaces.
Experience
Essential
* Extensive knowledge of the mechanical and plumbing systems in complex premises.
* In-depth knowledge of all relevant legislation and technical guidance.
* In-depth knowledge of all relevant Health Technical Memoranda.
* Significant experience working in a complex engineering/building environment.
Desirable
* Knowledge of electrical systems in NHS premises.
Technical Skills Competencies
Essential
* Skilled in maintenance, fault finding, test & repair work on a very wide range of complex engineering services & equipment, with the ability to work unassisted in varying, often technical and challenging environments whilst complying with Health & Safety/environmental regulations and standards.
