Together we are Trusted to Serve Scotland. Network Maintenance (Repair) Operators Scottish Water looks after Scotland's most precious natural resource. From source to tap, we guard Scotlandâs reputation for refreshingly pure water, and care for our environment at the same time. Sounds good? We are looking for motivated people to join our Water Response team, providing support in and around the Stirling area. Our Network Maintenance (Repair) Operators are the people who go to the rescue when customers report a problem with their water supply. Youâve probably seen them out on the roads in Scottish Water vans, or cordoning off local streets to perform essential repairs. Pipes and valves are not always easily accessible â so we often have to dig up roads to get to them.   What youâll do  â¯Â You can expect to be out on the road most days working as part of a two-person team. Youâll be investigating problems, carrying out emergency and routine repairs and take out maintenance on our water infrastructure, as well as doing regular plant, equipment, and vehicle checks.  Itâs vitally important that you put health and safety first â to protect yourself, your team-mates and members of the public. Youâll need to follow safe working practices and ensure that risks are fully considered.   Youâll be keeping colleagues up to date with issues and progress and keeping customers informed. And youâll be tracking your activity on digital apps and reporting systems.   It probably goes without saying that most of the time youâll be working outside â in all the weather that Scotland throws at us. But weâll make sure that youâre kitted out properly so that you stay warm, dry and safe.  What youâll bring  â¯Â Ideally youâll have some experience in Utilities repairs. But weâll train you on all aspects of Scotlandâs water infrastructure. Weâre looking for friendly, patient, and solution-focused individuals who can engage with customers to solve problems, answer questions, and go the extra mile to ensure satisfaction  A full DVLA-issued driving licence is essential, as youâll be traveling around in a Scottish Water van â sometimes off the beaten track.  Basic IT skills are a must, as youâll be using digital equipment and apps throughout the day - nothing fancy, but enough to get your point across clearly, quickly, and accurately.  Youâll need to be self-motivated, but still eager to contribute to your teamâs goals.  â¯Â Youâll need an understanding of health and safety principles for site working or skills in basic ground works.  A few ânice to havesâ: it would be ideal if you have experience with HGVs or 180/360 excavators. And experience using cable avoidance tools would be good.   Holding a CPCS or NSRWA qualification would be great, but itâs not a must-have. â¯Â Looking out for you  â¯Â While the work we do is important, we know itâs not the only thing that matters. Thatâs why we make sure you have everything you need to find a good work-life balance. â¯Â The normal hours for this role are Monday to Friday, from 8.00 to 15.30 Monday to Friday. And once youâre trained up, youâll also participate in a 1 in 5 standby rota for out-of-hours work (and receive a monthly standby allowance).  But youâll get plenty of time to recharge with 38 days of holiday every year (including public holidays). And you can even buy five more if you need a little extra time. You can also take paid time off to volunteer in your community.    When it comes to major life events we have family-friendly policies around adoption, maternity, and parental leave. And for the everyday? We embrace flexible working. â¯Â For your future, thereâs our pension (the âknow-what-youâll-get-when-you-retireâ kind), as well as life assurance. â¯Â As for some nice extras? You can expect an annual company bonus. Not to mention access to SW Splash â handy rewards that can save you money on holidays, bills, and shopping. â¯Â  The not-so-small print  â¯Â This role will be a Grade 4. If youâre new to Scottish Water, youâll join us on a starting salary of £27,590. Performance-driven pay progression would then allow you to move through the range to a maximum of £32,420. â¯Â Job offers at Scottish Water are conditional, and will be confirmed on completion of our pre-employment screening, e.g. referencing, criminal record checks, license checks, etc. These checks are conducted on our behalf by a third party. Donât worry - weâll ask your permission before starting these checks. â¯Â . ⯠If youâre interested in this role â or know someone else who might be - weâll be accepting applications until the 8th of April at midnight. A few final things worth knowing⦠ Research shows that some people avoid applying for jobs unless they can meet every single criteria.
