Working Pattern: Permanent/ Full Time
As the Lead Engineer, you will:
* Act as the discipline focal point providing support across the business and client streams in Hydrogen, Decarbonisation, Oil and Gas, and Renewables.
* Execute engineering activities (Concept, Front End Engineering Design, Technical Study & Detailed Design).
* Assess the effectiveness of working practices and systems with a view to continuously improving systems, personal and team performance.
* Carry out work in accordance with PD&MS and project Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems.
* Prepare estimates and schedules and assist in their review.
* Provide technical assistance to junior team members as and when required.

About You
You’ll have experience of:
* Leading a team of engineers and coordinating work tasks to achieve required plan dates or be a senior/principal engineer looking for a step up in their career.
* Managing team budgets, producing scope estimates, and recognizing and controlling scope change.
* Performing studies, equipment selection reviews, specification, technical bid evaluations, and package management of equipment packages in an EPC environment or client role is highly preferred.
* Static, package or rotating equipment is essential. Typical equipment to be experienced within the role include: pumps, heat exchangers, power generation, gas compression, vessels, tanks, chemical injection, pig traps, cranes, mechanical handling equipment and process conditioning packages.
* Offshore and onshore gas business but similar transferable industry skills will also be considered in lieu of specific O&G experience.
* Having offshore BOSIET, MIST, and medical are preferred for the role with experience of site surveys for condition assessments, commissioning assistance, or dimensional and utility interface reviews.
* Flexible working attitude to deal with an environment that operates 24hrs/day 365 days/year is essential.
* CE/ATEX and UKCA certification of equipment is essential.
* Technically competent in own discipline and actively maintains own competence according to standards and pursues continuous professional development.
* Producing, checking, and approving deliverables that conform to all applicable industry engineering codes and standards as well as the client’s policies and procedures relative to the equipment being specified.
* Specifying mechanical package equipment, evaluating, selecting, and procuring replacement and/or upgrades to equipment.
* Producing mechanical equipment purchase specifications, datasheets, SDRLs, and Technical Bid Evaluations.
* Liaising closely with other disciplines to ensure all equipment requirements are addressed in the design, specification of equipment, construction sequencing, and commissioning.
* Experience participating in safety studies such as: HAZOP, HAZID, and design safety reviews.
* Providing value-adding knowledge to constructability reviews and taking consideration of layout restrictions, ergonomics, safety, utilities, and maintainability.
* Equipment vendor coordinating and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT’s) is essential for the role along with an understanding of quality control requirements in line with the inspection and test plan.
* Understanding and ability to interpret system Process and Instrument Diagrams, fabrication drawings, and schematics is essential.
* Coordinating and controlling vendor document submissions and reviews.
* Generating, checking, and approving calculations against design codes and best practice.
* IT Packages such as Finglow, PV Elite, HTRI would be an advantage, but not essential. Knowledge of Microsoft packages and Mathcad is essential.

Qualifications
* BSc or equivalent in relevant Engineering Discipline.
* Chartered Engineer status preferred.
* Significant, demonstrable experience in Detailed Design Engineering and Engineering Checking.
* Detailed understanding of all Engineering disciplines.
* Knowledge and understanding of relevant Oil & Gas Industry Codes and Standards.
* Understanding the application of Autodesk Design products.
* Competent in the use of MS Office applications.
* Survival BOSIET/FOET with CA-EBS & MIST (advantageous).
