We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a knowledgeable, proactive and experienced Temporary Staffing Team Lead to join Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust. This role will encompass the day to day management of the Temporary Staffing Team, including being the escalation point for queries/concerns.
The successful candidate will report into the Head of Recruitment and Resourcing. The role requires someone who can proactively identify opportunities to improve processes and systems, ensure compliance for all temporary workers, work closely with Wards/Departments and the Recruitment team to highlight and address shortfalls in the Temporary staffing resource pool and ensure temporary staffing booking systems are effective 24/7. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Recruitment and Resourcing to reduce bank and agency usage and spend across the Trust.
This position will not be supported for visa sponsorship. All applicants are expected to have valid right to work document to work in the UK when applying for this position.
Main duties of the job
1. Day to day management of the Temporary Staffing Team, including escalation point for queries/concerns.
2. Taking a lead under the direction of Head of Resourcing & Recruitment for service quality assurance including monitoring and managing Temporary Staffing KPIs.
3. Actively lead by example and promote team engagement and productivity.
4. Create and distribute regular Temporary Staffing reports.
5. Support the Head of Resourcing & Recruitment to ensure quality of processes and procedures.
6. Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes and systems.
7. Proactively work with divisions to reduce bank and agency spend and usage across the board.
8. Report and ensure compliance for all temporary workers.
9. Working closely with Wards/Departments and the Recruitment team to highlight and address shortfalls in the Temporary staffing resource pool.
10. To ensure temporary staffing booking systems are effective 24/7 and ensuring relevant information is available for short notice bookings to be made out of hours by Site management.
11. Attend regular internal and external meetings.

Job responsibilities
Managerial responsibilities:
1. Line management of the Temporary Staffing Team.
2. Be the first point of contact for any team queries and concerns.
3. Taking a lead under the direction of Head of Resourcing & Recruitment for service quality assurance including monitoring and managing Temporary Staffing KPIs.
4. Provide feedback to Rostering and Temporary Staffing on the productivity and quality of work of the team, reporting on KPIs.
5. At least one monthly 1:1 with the team and ensure annual appraisal is done in a timely manner and reviewed monthly.
6. Appraise staff and set realistic objectives in line with their personal development plans and ensure that objectives are consistent with those developed by the Trust and HR directorate.
7. Promote a team approach to the running of the department, ensuring adequate staffing levels as well as ensuring staff feel supported and valued and developmental opportunities are made available.
8. Work closely with HR, Divisions, Wards and Departments in order to identify future opportunities to recruit to the temporary resource pool.
9. Provide effective advice and support to Ward Managers and Team Leads, giving advice for effective planning and use of temporary staff.
10. Ensure there is a robust system in place to monitor and advise on the Equality Act 2010 throughout the recruitment process, taking appropriate action where necessary.
11. Ensure all documentation, including job descriptions, person specification and job packs relating to DGT through the bank recruitment process is accurate and up to date and conforms to agreed templates and formats.
12. Provide leadership and direction for the day to day team management and professional delivery of the Temporary Staffing Team and service within key agreed performance indicators.
