Therapy services at Dorset County Hospital are developing. We are excited to be offering a new role, leading on the community equipment ordering provision, delivery and monitoring.
The role will involve assessment and provision of relevant equipment to patients within the hospital, and in to patients' homes to ensure a smooth, timely and effective discharge from hospital. Driving and ability to carry, install and adjust equipment is a requirement of the post.
The post holder will be responsible for new staff induction regarding the equipment service, prescription process and informing the teams on any relevant updates.
The post holder will feedback directly to the Head of Occupational Therapy as well as to the Equipment for Living meetings.
A full driving licence is required.
• To be an autonomous practitioner
• To determine clinical diagnosis and develop effective treatment plans in relation to equipment provision, with the support of relevant senior staff
• Be responsible for maintaining own competency to practice through CPD activities and maintain a portfolio which reflects personal development and professional standards.
• Participate in the staff appraisal scheme as an appraisee and be responsible for complying with agreed personal development plan to meet set competencies.
• Be an active member of the In-Service Training Programme by attendance at, and participation in, in-service training programmes, tutorials, individual training sessions, external courses and peer review.
• Be responsible for full workload under direct and indirect supervision of a therapist
• Attend Trust mandatory training sessions
• To fully participate in weekend working as required by the service
