Contract type: Permanent/ Term Time only
Hours: 24 hours (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday)
Salary: £11,827 per annum/ Term Time only
Location: Longton - Market Street

Who are we looking for?
We are in search of a Learning Support Assistant to join our Education Centre based in Longton.
The Longton centre has an experienced team of staff who support their learners along their education journey to be able to achieve their qualifications, as well as enriching their courses with trips, work experiences, and careers advice set in an inclusive environment.
What will I be doing as a Learning Support Assistant?
This role is to support the learners identified with SEN within the centre, in lessons as well as support needs in communal areas. Working alongside the staff team to ensure an inclusive approach is taken for the learners to be able to achieve.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
* Identify and maintain focus on achievement of desired outcomes for learners across all subject areas.
* Have a good understanding of all learners’ needs, including LDD/SEND and supportive strategies.
* Actively engage and motivate learners in decisions that affect them whilst supporting the delivery of tailored programmes.
* Provide feedback to teaching staff on progress of learners, against targets set.
* Develop relationships and liaise with appropriate external agencies in support of learner’s needs.
Requirements for this role:
* Experience of working with LLDD students with a SEN is essential.
* L2 English & Maths is essential.
* An Enhanced with Barred Lists DBS check is essential.
* Relevant qualifications around supporting learning or SEN students is desirable.

* Excellent organisational and planning skills.
* ICT skills - a working knowledge of Office 365.
* Ability to work as part of the wider team.
* Communicating to a high standard at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
* Calm and objective when faced with problems and challenges.
