Job Title: Electronic Hardware Project Engineering Manager

Salary: Circa £70,000 commensurate with skills and experience
What you'll be doing:
* Responsible for the end-to-end coordination and delivery of engineering activities within a hardware development environment
* Act as the central point between system design, technical authorities, and project delivery to ensure that the right people, tools, and priorities are aligned to deliver high-quality products on time and within budget
* Lead daily stand-up meetings, reviewing team progress and short-term priorities to ensure alignment across engineering activities
* Collaborate with technical authorities to adapt schedules, assess cost and schedule risks, and drive mitigation and re-planning when needed
* Maintain close oversight of project control data, identifying and escalating resource requirements, delivery risks, and shifting priorities to the wider business
* Own the delivery of engineering content, coordinating across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain to ensure successful outcomes
* Interface with key stakeholders including project managers, design authorities, and subcontractors, ensuring technical and delivery goals are met
* Ensure compliance with engineering governance, safety, and assurance processes, while also mentoring junior engineers and continuously improving delivery practices
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
* Degree STEM qualified, or equivalent experience
* Chartered engineer, equivalent or working towards
* Strong understanding of a core engineering discipline, with the ability to engage across related technical areas and interpret complex engineering issues
* In-depth knowledge of engineering planning, engineering maturity, and the full engineering lifecycle, particularly in a hardware or systems context
* Solid understanding of project management principles, including scheduling, resource planning, risk mitigation, and cost control
* Experience leading a multidisciplinary engineering team (typically 12+ engineers), ensuring timely delivery of technical outputs to agreed requirements
* Proven ability to navigate and solve complex technical challenges, balancing risks, trade-offs, and stakeholder expectations
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and align cross-functional teams, and interface with both internal stakeholders and external partners when required
