Hartlepool & Stockton Health is posting the following job on behalf of one of our member practices. Alma Medical Centre, a friendly supportive GP Practice in Stockton, is looking to recruit a part-time receptionist to join our busy reception team. The successful candidate will be a point of contact in assisting patients to receive appropriate professional healthcare, be welcoming, and deliver a high quality, professional and patient-focused care.
Main duties of the job
1. Receiving patients, making appointments, dealing with patient queries.
2. Processing telephone requests for appointments, telephone queries, and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional or external health care provider to address the patient's needs.
3. Taking messages and passing on information.
4. Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team members, and associated healthcare agencies and providers.
5. Signposting patients to appropriate health professionals and services.
6. Computer data entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording information in accordance with practice procedures.
7. Keeping the reception area, notice boards, and leaflets tidy and presentable.
8. Perform any other relevant and reasonable duties that may be requested by the Practice Manager, reception manager, or partners.
9. Assisting with the gathering of information such as QOF and audits.
10. Processing repeat prescriptions in accordance with practice guidelines.

Job responsibilities
You will be responsible for the general reception duties within the Practice and work with our established processes, policies, and procedures to provide a comprehensive high-quality service and deal efficiently and courteously with patient enquiries. Your regular duties in this role will include dealing with telephone, face-to-face, and electronic enquiries, booking patient appointments and home visits, contacting patients to provide information from the clinical team, and assisting patients to access our services and those available in the wider community.

Qualifications
* NVQ Level 2 or Equivalent Business/Admin or customer service
* NVQ Level 3 Business Admin
* Experienced GP Receptionist
* Able to use Systmone clinical computing system; however, full training is available.
