Are you a Lead Linux Engineer looking for a new challenge? We are looking for an Infrastructure Lead specialised in Linux Systems to lead a very talented team of Linux engineers across multiple client sites. As the team lead, you will be responsible for the technical ownership of the Linux estate, providing support and maintenance for all existing and future Linux Infrastructure. Additionally, you will have automation at mind in all aspects of your work, using automation technologies, such as Ansible to bring improvements to not just the Linux workspace, but the wider Infrastructure team. You will be a self-motivated and communicative individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment with constant change. You will be responsible for seamless operations of the Linux Infrastructure across a large Enterprise estate, spanning over 3 sites in the UK. This is an exciting, innovative role for someone who wants to lead a team, whilst maintaining a hands-on approach to Infrastructure engineering. What you will be doing: Management of incidents, requests and changes within the Linux team and carry out regular 1-2-1's with team members identify training requirements within the team Work collaboratively across our team to design, build and maintain mission critical systems Maintenance and production of user documentation to facilitate knowledge share and skills development Represent the team at key ITIL process touch points including change advisory boards, problem management, technical design authority, major incident management when required Provide hands-on engineering support and expertise to complex technical activities such as root cause analysis, troubleshooting, project recovery/remediation plans and technical risk assessments Work with engineers to assure that infrastructure is maintained with the latest firmware and software requirement What you will bring: Working experience in Ansible Automation Platform version 2 Strong knowledge of Linux Operating Systems such as RedHat Enterprise Linux and derivatives (6, 7, 8 and 9 would be good) Solid understanding or working with Ansible and Git (command line, Gitlab or bitbucket) Working knowledge of Virtualisation, such as VMware ESXi 7.x Demonstrable experience of working with Red Hat Satellite 6 and above Knowledge of Unix Storage filesystems and access protocols (XFS/NFS), Specifically, LVM2 It would be great if you had: Working knowledge of Atlassian tools such as Confluence and Jira Knowledge of HPE Storage Technologies (FC/iSCSI/NFS protocols) RHCSA certification on RedHat If you are interested in this role but not sure if your skills and experience are exactly what we're looking for, please do apply, we'd love to hear from you Employment Type: Full-time Location: Stevenage with some remote working Security Clearance Level: Ideally hold an active SC or be eligible Internal Recruiter: Rebecca Salary: £55-60,000k per annum Benefits: 25 days annual leave with the choice to buy additional days, health cash plan, life assurance, pension, and generous flexible benefits fund Loved reading about this job and want to know more about us?
