Description
* Innovation and technology focused business operating ahead of their time.
* Lead and grow an office for a market leader.
Due to a unique selling point that is giving this business a competitive advantage in the National Land Development sector, they are now looking to grow their Christchurch team.
The company: This consultancy's reputation is growing rapidly, becoming renowned for their innovation and a technology point of difference that really sets them apart. When combined with their relaxed, enjoyable culture and excellent projects, they are an employer of choice in the land development sector.
They are also quickly becoming the consultant of choice for many of the leading developers across the country, resulting in a large number of exciting, challenging projects that are a lot more resilient to economic conditions than others.
Flexibility is a focus, with work-life balance at the forefront. As a result, hours are flexible, working from home is always an option, and you will always feel valued.
The business makes a point of paying well (benchmarked against industry), with a competitive base salary combined with an annual bonus of up to 15% of base. Other benefits include annual CPD budget (and time to use it), phone, and health insurance. Vehicles are also negotiable.
They have an existing team in Christchurch, albeit only 2 people currently, but due to projects coming up from large national clients, their ambition in the region is large.
The role: As a Senior Civil Engineer and Client Manager, you will be responsible for the management of clients and delivery of civil design for those clients in the Canterbury region. Many of these clients are national, delivering large format land development, as well as smaller local developers.
Business development, or bringing in work (while viewed positively), isn't a big focus, as their sales pitch on the UVP is very strong. They already have some large clients signed up for work kicking off soon; however, they need someone locally to grow a team around, and be the face of the consultancy to clients and stakeholders in the region.
You will need strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as strong local land development design experience.
It's expected you will have between 5-20 years of local experience. While this is obviously a very broad range, ability and experience rather than years doing it will be the biggest driver of whether you will be a good fit.
CPEng is not essential, although will be viewed favourably. It is expected you will be a member of Engineering New Zealand and on the pathway to becoming Chartered if not already.
This is an excellent role with a market-leading business within the industry. It's hard to portray what makes them so unique via an advertisement, so to find out more get in touch in confidence, but I can guarantee you will be very impressed with their unique point of difference.
