Quality Inspector Location: Staverton Contract: Permanent We are recruiting for Quality Inspector who manage the calibration process for measuring and test equipment, as well as conducting inspection on components, plating and documentation. This role is a permanent opportunity in a company working on high-tolerance projects using exotic materials. Our clients products are advanced and span across a diverse set of industries including aerospace, defence, marine, medical, oil & gas and nuclear. Role Responsibilities of a Quality Inspector: Manage the calibration processes for measuring and test equipment, ensuring compliance with aerospace standards. Maintain accurate and up-to-date calibration records and certifications. Research and implement advanced calibration tools or software to enhance accuracy and efficiency. Ensure compliance with AS9100 and customer-specific quality requirements. Conduct Goods Return Notice (GRN) inspections, verifying subcontractor paperwork and certifications for outsourced processes. Perform comprehensive visual inspections of coated components, including HVOF, cadmium plating, and aerospace-accredited painting. Inspect components affected by various NDT methods and heat treatments, ensuring conformance with customer and industry specifications. Identify and resolve quality issues related to calibration and external processes. Collaborate with the inspection team, lead inspector, and relevant stakeholders to ensure quality standards are upheld. Report directly to the lead inspector and prioritise tasks based on workload direction. Continuously analyse and optimise calibration and GRN inspection processes to enhance efficiency and reliability. Introduce innovative systems or equipment to improve competitiveness in the market. Support foundational improvements and implement sustainable processes for long-term growth. An ideal candidate for the Quality Inspector role would have: Proven experience in calibration and quality inspection within the aerospace or high-spec manufacturing industry would be beneficial. Strong knowledge of AS9100 requirements and quality management systems. Expertise in visual inspections of coatings and post-processing methods. Familiarity with NDT and heat treatment quality standards. Experience working with calibration and inspection equipment/software. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve quality-related issues in a fast-paced environment. Formal training in calibration and inspection techniques. Certification in AS9100 / ISO 9001 auditing (desirable). Proficiency in using quality inspection software and ERP/MRP systems. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and effective communication abilities.
