HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
In this role, you will assist in developing, implementing, and managing quality programs, policies, and procedures that support company quality initiatives and ensure our rubber belting products meet or exceed customer expectations. Manage and coordinate the quality of goods related to external customers and suppliers. This position will require travel to Continental suppliers and customers as necessary. This position is ideal for someone passionate about quality assurance and eager to grow their career in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
* Test Methods Coordination: Coordinate and apply test methods and process improvements. Develop and maintain internal testing and incoming inspection requirements and communicate results to internal and external customers.
* Product Improvement: Recommend product design changes and work with the Quality Manager to advise suppliers to achieve desired products.
* QMS Participation: Support Continental’s QMS to maintain ISO 9001 certification, including audit schedules, material coordination, and participation as a lead auditor.
* Supplier Qualification: Be involved in the qualification of new suppliers and products, implementing them into Continental’s quality process for incoming inspection and internal testing.
* Warranty Analysis: Assist in reviewing and analyzing customer warranties for failure modes, communicate trends, lead improvement teams, process claims, and communicate data trends for continual improvement.
* Communication: Keep management informed of important developments and potential problems. Coordinate plans and activities with others to ensure a coordinated work effort.
* Inspections and Audits: Perform inspections, audits, tests, and dispositions on incoming, in-process, finished goods, and warranty items. Communicate acceptance and results to internal and external customers.
* Production Floor Authority: Act as a quality authority on the production floor to ensure products meet specifications and standard processes are followed. Stop production of non-conforming material as required.
* Corrective Actions: Follow up on internal corrective actions and maintain internal and external standards.
* Supplier Portal Access: Provide timely responses to customer and warranty inquiries via supplier portals, acting as a backup for Quality Management (QM).
* Other: Any other duties/activities as required to support this location.
Qualifications
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE
* Bachelor's Degree in a related field
* 0-2 years of experience in quality assurance; 2-4 years of quality assurance experience in lieu of Bachelor's Degree
* ISO 9001 knowledge
* Working knowledge of Quality Control techniques, methods, and procedures
* Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and other quality improvement methodologies
* Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of company personnel and others at all levels
* Works safely and keeps work area clear of potential hazards, knows and understands company EHS policies
* Demonstrated ability to perform assigned job functions in a manner which will consistently meet supervisor expectations
* Deals effectively and cooperatively with established policies and procedures. Interfaces and cooperates with first-line supervision effectively
* Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
* Proficiency in using quality control tools and software
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
