A leading manufacturer in the food manufacturing industry has a rare opportunity for an experienced Quality System Manager to join their team.
This is a key role focused on developing and maintaining a robust Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with customer codes of practice, industry standards, and food safety legislative requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop, maintain, and validate the site QMS to ensure operational and legislative compliance.
2. Manage internal and external audit schedules and oversee corrective actions.
3. Act as a key member of the HACCP team, ensuring the compliance of new processes and products.
4. Investigate and respond to customer complaints and audit non-conformities.
5. Liaise with customers on technical matters, ensuring exceptional service.
6. Support and coach team members, including apprentices and placement students.
7. Deputise for the Technical Manager and support QA operations as needed.
8. Drive a culture of food safety and quality awareness across the site.
About You:
You will be a hands-on professional with a proactive approach and the confidence to operate in customer- and auditor-facing environments. You will have:
1. Experience in Quality Systems or Technical Services and Auditing within food manufacturing.
2. Lead Auditor training or equivalent would be desirable.
3. Strong knowledge of BRC standards, HACCP, and Food Safety certified.
4. Excellent relationship-building, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
5. The ability to work as part of a team and lead by example.
