Role Overview
Reporting directly to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Lead Clinical Site Manager oversees clinical and non-clinical operations across the hospital campus. They lead a team of Clinical Site Managers to ensure 24/7 site management. The role involves a hybrid work model, with 50% of the time dedicated to management and planning, and the other 50% to the Clinical Site Management rota.
Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and monitoring policies and procedures for safe site operations, managing bed utilization, and ensuring efficient patient flow.
This role is vital for maintaining smooth hospital operations and providing optimal patient care through informed decision-making and effective leadership.
What you’ll do:
1. Reporting directly to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Lead Clinical Site Manager is a present and accountable operational leader who contributes to the overall management of clinical and non-clinical operations across the acute hospital campus.
2. Effectively lead and manage a team of dedicated Clinical Site Managers to ensure safe and effective management of the hospital site across the 24/7 period.
3. Be responsible for the design, implementation and monitoring of policies, processes, and procedures to ensure the safe and effective management of clinical site operations both in and out of hours.
4. Be accountable for the effective management and planning of bed utilisation across the hospital ensuring clear systems and procedures are developed, implemented, and monitored which optimise bed utilisation and support efficient patient flow through the hospital.
5. Act as a senior clinical and operational resource and interfaces with all wards, departments, consultants, and general practitioners, enabling the hospital to provide an efficient first point of contact in the provision of services.
What you’ll bring:
1. First level registered nurse professional qualification
2. 1st Degree or equivalent level of experience
3. Must have a current ALS or EPALS certificate or willing to work towards in the first 6 months in post.
4. Evidence of professional leadership and management
5. Experience in clinical audit and benchmarking, and developing, delivering, monitoring, and evaluating training programmes.
6. Experience in the development of protocols to support best practice.
