The role
As the Airport Environment Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring airport development and operation is conducted in line with Environmental legal requirements, best practice principles and MAG corporate policy. The role will support the asset management function to provide expert advice and input into asset development, capital delivery functions and the wider airport operation. The role will act as the custodian of the Environmental Management system and will hold internal departments, 3rd parties and contractors operating at the airport to account for their environmental impact and performance. This is a group role and will also be responsible for sharing best practice across the group, developing and maintaining group standards and there will be an element of travel between sites as and when required.
What will make you successful in the role?
The successful candidate will hold an Environment Science or related degree, with 10 years+ multiple industry experience (including outside of aviation) of managing, interpreting and implementing environmental legislation, including being able to demonstrate knowledge of environmental legal requirements and pollution prevention. Ideally, you will be a full member of IEMA or equivalent and hold a NEBOSH National General Certificate. Strong communication and influencing skills are key to this role, including excellent report writing, presentation andgrammar skills. Experience in managing a team both direct staff and agency / contractors is essential as well as experience working, engaging and delivering to a senior management team.TPBN1_UKTJ
