ABOUT THE ROLE
You will deliver the commercial management of complex refurbishment projects with contract values ranging from £5 – 20m. The relevant candidate should have a good technical understanding of structure and an eye for detail. The specialism is working on existing buildings. You will play an active role in the management of subcontractors which includes; overseeing the project delivery, with a collaborative approach to working with the site project delivery team.
They’re looking for an experienced quantity surveyor who will be working on projects ranging in complexity and project value. These projects will require navigating large numbers of sub-contractors / heritage elements / complex design requirements.
REQUIREMENTS
The QS has the responsibility for:
1. Managing the commercial elements of the project delivery
2. Ensure that the project costs are tracked and managed
3. Oversee subcontractor orders, payments, variations & final accounts
4. Payment applications to the client’s PQ, ensuring payments and retentions are made fairly
5. Management of the contract (typically JCT)
6. Work closely with the wider management team
7. Produce monthly project CVRs
8. Report to the Commercial Director
They’re looking for a person who is able to work across multiple projects concurrently to suit the project’s needs. The following expertise are advantageous:
9. Strong structural knowledge
10. Experience working on existing buildings (heritage and listed)
11. Ability to price inhouse works
12. Experience in JCT projects
13. High energy & enthusiasm
14. Interest in technical knowledge
REWARDS AND BENEFITS
Base salary of between £80,000 – £90,000 per year.
