As a Fire Door Joiner for Orchard Care Homes, you will deliver a high-quality service across all our care homes within the region. This includes maintaining and enhancing the condition of both the interior and exterior of the properties. You will work closely with the Maintenance Manager and the wider team to support the day-to-day running of the maintenance operations., As the first point of contact for the Maintenance Manager, you will oversee both planned and reactive repairs, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and to Orchard Care Homes' high standards. Your responsibilities will include:
* First and second-fix joinery tasks.
* Fire door maintenance, repair, and installation as required.
* Conducting fire door surveys at various sites, assessing both condition and risk.
We are looking for an experienced (time-served) Carpenter and Joiner with a strong track record in both domestic and commercial projects. You should have the following qualifications and experience:
* NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in Carpentry/Joinery (or equivalent).
* Fire Door Installation and Maintenance qualification (desirable).
* Extensive experience in fire door repair, installation, and maintenance.
* Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage workloads effectively.
* Solid knowledge of regulations, industry standards, and specifications related to fire doors and maintenance.
* Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail in record-keeping.
* IT literate, with experience using email and APP-based systems.
* Full, clean driving license with the flexibility to travel and occasionally work away from home.
* Basic Health and Safety awareness.
* Excellent communication skills, with a friendly, approachable manner.
* Ability to work independently, prioritizing and planning your tasks effectively.
* Experience with cyclical maintenance and conducting regulatory checks.
