Description Are you an innovative and dynamic individual with strong people and problem-solving skills, ready to lead the team supporting the Transport Scotland Chief Executive? As Head of Chief Executive Offices, you will work to deliver key priorities, including their Accountable Officer responsibilities. You will build strong relationships to solve complex problems on behalf of one of the most senior leaders in the Scottish Government, working closely with the Transport Scotland Senior Management Team, the DG Net Zero office, and various Ministerial Private Offices. This role involves driving specific strategic priorities for the Chief Executive, coordinating support and delivery mechanisms to help achieve strategic and leadership objectives. You will lead the TS Chief Executive team, responsible for daily support to the Chief Executive. This role is based in Glasgow, but travel to other locations may be required. The team is part of the wider Finance and Corporate Services Directorate and includes the Chief Executive, this post and four other team members. You will report directly to the Chief Executive. Responsibilities Responsibilities: Providing efficient, effective and proactive support to the Chief Executive. Providing strategic advice, support and challenge on sensitive or priority issues. Delegating priorities on behalf of the CEO across the organisation, often to more senior colleagues. Leading discrete projects or take forward prioritise on behalf of the CEO. Triaging information to ensure a consistent level of awareness and understanding in a rapidly changing environment. Escalating, deescalating or engaging specialists for further advice or support. Working as part of a network of strategic advisers across the Agency, taking portfolio responsibility for strategic themes. Managing the CE team including direct line management of the team lead to deliver a well performing business management function for the CEO. Maintaining good working relationships with the DG office and Private Offices. This post is based in Glasgow, with hybrid working in line with current Transport Scotland policies. You will be expected to be office based twice per week, pro rata.
