This is an exciting opportunity to join a brand-new 12-bedded CAMHS service in Surrey as an Adolescent Consultant Psychiatrist. You will be part of a partnership venture between Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Trust (SABP) and Elysium Healthcare, delivering evidence-based and focused treatment plans to support children and young people aged 13-18 with general mental health Tier 4 presentations including disordered eating.
Main duties of the job
As a CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist, you will review referrals, conduct admission assessments, maintain effective management plans, assess physical health, and facilitate regular CPA review meetings. You will work alongside a talented and experienced multidisciplinary team to create tailored treatment programmes to support the individual needs of each young person within a warm and nurturing environment.
Job responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
* Review referrals and determine appropriateness for admission
* Conduct admission assessments and maintain effective management plans of all young people on the unit
* Conduct risk assessments and review regularly
* Allocate specialist psychological treatments in line with individual needs
* Assess physical health
* Ensure effective liaison with referring teams
* Act as Responsible Clinician for young people detained under the Mental Health Act
* Involvement in quality, inspections and governance processes
You will also be required to take part in the On Call Consultant rota.
To be successful in this role, you'll need
* Registered on the Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with a licence to practice
* Experience of CAMHS Forensic and/or Eating Disorders desirable

Qualifications
* Registered on the Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with a licence to practice. Experience of CAMHS Forensic and/or Eating Disorders is desirable.
