Procurement and Technology Support Assistant
About the Role:
Birmingham City FC is looking for a dedicated Procurement and Technology Support Assistant to assist in our growing procurement and technology operations. This role involves a variety of tasks aimed at supporting the Club's procurement activities and technology needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement:
1. Contact suppliers to obtain quotes for new projects and renewals, typically up to £100k of annual spend (software, office supplies, computers, facilities, cars, maintenance services).
2. Conduct price comparisons from simple tender documents sent to suppliers to ensure value for the Club.
3. Analyse spend patterns with suppliers in collaboration with the Finance team to identify any contracts at risk of going over budget.
4. Support Club colleagues in supplier meetings to optimise contract value and outcomes. This includes reviewing supplier service levels, invoicing, emerging risks, and any arising issues.
5. Assist the Head of Procurement & Technology in meetings where new contracts are being formulated.
Technology:
1. Manage stock control of IT equipment for new starters.
2. Manage and authorise small value IT equipment or software requests from Club colleagues.
3. Work with our Club IT provider to track unresolved technology support tickets and ensure service levels are met.
4. Manage minor IT outages affecting up to 10 users.
5. Conduct an annual IT equipment survey and asset tagging reconciliation to ensure proper usage and record-keeping.
6. Run audits of licence usage to minimise spend on unused licences.
What we're looking for in you:
1. Degree in Business Studies or Computer Science is desirable.
2. Experience working in a commercial environment.
3. Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with colleagues and suppliers.
4. Analytical mindset with good problem-solving skills.
5. Proficient in Excel.
6. Keen interest in learning and taking on new challenges.
