We have an exciting and fulfilling opportunity for an enthusiastic and capable Electoral and Democratic Services Manager. This role will be leading a small and friendly team in managing the delivery of electoral and democratic services in an ambitious rural authority.
Our role: In addition to your area of direct responsibility of Elections and Democratic Services, you will be part of the Council’s Senior Management Team and will be involved in corporate projects where your ideas and challenges will be welcome. You will report directly to the Director of Governance and Corporate Services and will work alongside the Returning Officer during election periods.
Who we are: Located in the town of Matlock, we have over 100 parish councils; a population of around 70,000, and a current electorate of 59,000. Working for Derbyshire Dales has many benefits, not least the view out of the window. Derbyshire Dales is a beautiful place to work and visit. Once you’re here, we know you’ll want to see more.
What we are looking for: Enthusiasm, flexibility and solid all-round knowledge of electoral law and practice is a must as you will need to understand the challenges an election period can bring. You may be early in your career as a manager, so if you have the professional technical knowledge, we can help develop your skills to support you to bring the best out of your team and develop your own skill set.
What we can offer:
* Competitive salary including 11% market supplement
* 26 Days annual leave, increasing to 30 after 5 years
* Local Government Pension scheme
* Free car parking
* Discounted gym membership
* Ongoing CPD
