Job overview
We are looking for Senior Technicians to join our estates team based at Basildon Hospital.
If successful, you will be at the forefront of highly complex activities on a range of Estates plant and systems, including PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance), Breakdowns and job requests both inside and outside of normal working hours, in order to keep the Trust's essential services running 24/7.

Main duties of the job
* The Senior Technician will be able to effectively advise, instruct and train colleagues, and other groups, in the safe operation of equipment and systems.
* The Senior Technician will be able to liaise with Trust staff to discuss Estates work related issues and provide concise and detailed responses both verbally and in writing.
* They will be able to communicate complex technical and safety advice effectively with a wide range of groups including department colleagues, other Trust staff groups, contractors, patients, and the general public, particularly in a potential emergency situation. This may be delivered as formal training, or informally as part of the Senior Technicians daily routine, but will always ensure compliance with all recognised safety standards and procedures.
* They will effectively communicate with all levels of Trust Staff in regard to maintenance and repair arrangements and schedules in order to underpin the smooth and efficient running of the Trust and maintain continuity of care to patients.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Relevant practical experience and either ONC Elec/Mech or HNC Elec/Mech or equivalent technical qualification.
Knowledge
Essential criteria
* Supporting information demonstrates knowledge of electrical/mechanical/building services legislation.
Desirable criteria
* Supporting information and/or work history demonstrates knowledge of Health Technical Memorandums.
