Pay Rate: Up to £40.00 per hour PAYE depending on experience

Key Requirements:
Must have an ONC / OND in Building Studies (or equivalent).
Must have an HNC / HND in Building Studies (or equivalent) and be able to demonstrate working towards a Chartered Membership of the Institute of Builders (or equivalent, eg CIAT, ARB etc).
Proven experience in building surveying and property assessments.
Provide evidence of using similar computer-based programmes such as AutoCAD, NBS, NSR, word processing, spreadsheets, databases and a clear familiarity with PC's, keyboard etc.
Provide evidence of co-ordinating and leading multi-disciplinary building projects from inception to completion.
Demonstrate a detailed knowledge of construction, current design standards, cost control and procurement practices.
Full UK driving licence.
We are seeking a Property Building Surveyor to join our dynamic team and help shape the future of property development and management. The post holder will also carry out or commission a range of surveys, provide services as described in Service Level Agreements and contribute to the annual review and drafting of the Building Maintenance Programme.
Key Responsibilities:
Liaise with the other Officers of the Building Services team, officers of the Council, Schools, Building / Premise Managers / Duty Holders and external agencies.
In liaison with the First Response team, technically assess and add detail to response repair requests, issue orders to appropriate contractors, monitor progress, monitor contractor’s adherence to established response time targets, carry out quality checks of work on site and authorise payment.
Prepare specifications and tender documentation, as necessary, for works (planned, revenue and capital works, including insurance works) related to the maintenance, alteration, improvement, extension and construction of Council property.
Produce tender and contract drawings using appropriate computer aided design packages.
Place orders with the relevant contractors, including the adequate inspection of on-site works and the validation of accounts for works completed, up to and including the final account.
Carry out all functions of the Contract Administrator as defined under various (eg JCT) forms of contract.
