Key responsibilities of a Relief Manager:
1. Run an entire home when a Home Manager is absent or when they are recruiting for a new one.
2. Take responsibility for the well-being of our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
3. Lead, motivate, and mentor your team while delivering clinical guidance and training.
4. Carry out assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans for residents.
5. Monitor work areas and practices to ensure safety and compliance with relevant standards, policies, and legislation.
6. Promote residents’ independence, choice, dignity, and respect by delivering high standards of care.
7. Provide information, advice, and support to residents, families, and staff.
8. Promote residents' rights and encourage participation in activities.
9. Help residents access local services and engage with the community.
10. Monitor business performance and quality of care.
11. Agree contracts, budgeting, and fundraising.
12. Develop policies and practices while maintaining confidentiality.
13. Recruit, train, and supervise staff.
14. Work within the NMC codes of conduct.
15. Provide support and professional supervision to care staff and nursing staff as appropriate.
16. Ensure effective communication with relatives and other healthcare professionals.
17. Maintain confidentiality regarding all aspects of care and management of the home.
