The Role: Business Analyst - Finance Change M&G is looking for a Business Analyst within the Finance Change team. This role is essential in supporting some of the key strategic objectives of the group, particularly the implementation of capabilities to support new business growth. As a Business Analyst, you will work with the business and strategic partners to understand business problems or opportunities and assist in delivering desired business outcomes. Key Responsibilities for this role: Supporting Requirement Gathering: Work with team members to gather and understand business requirements. Help present these requirements clearly to ensure they can be built and implemented effectively. Assist in Solution Design: Collaborate with Finance SMEs to support the development of appropriate business solutions for new and emerging requirements. Contribute to Team Success: Assist Business Analysts in executing necessary activities and producing relevant outputs. Support in Problem Solving: Help anticipate and address problems or issues that the team may encounter. Assist in Stakeholder Management: Build relationships with peers and stakeholders, and support in aligning business analysis outcomes. Key skills & competencies: Understanding Business Processes: Basic understanding of business processes with an ability to document current processes clearly and identify opportunities for improvement. Technology Awareness: General understanding of technology and experience working in a technology-driven environment. Familiarity with agile and waterfall methodologies is a plus. Research and Critical Thinking Skills: Ability to consider multiple outcomes for problems and identify the best solutions through research and analysis. People Skills: Ability to interact effectively with people at different levels within the organisation. Communication Skills: Good listening skills to understand requirements and effective communication skills to articulate ideas clearly and concisely. Business Analysis Skills: Knowledge of fundamental business analysis practices such as investigating, analysing, visualising, and documenting solutions. Ability to align work with the broader vision of M&G. Key knowledge & experience: Finance Domain Knowledge: Understanding of finance principles is beneficial. Experience: Ideally, you will have some exposure to working with accounting or finance teams and understanding finance processes. Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with financial regulations like UK GAAP, Solvency II, and IFRS would be advantageous but is not essential. Can-do Attitude: Eagerness to learn, solve problems, and contribute positively within the team.
