Location: PO12 2DL, located in Alverstoke, with free onsite parking.The work covers all aspects of non-ionising radiation including: static and low frequency electromagnetic fields, radio frequency fields, incoherent artificial optical radiation and lasers.This role is ideally suited to someone with experience of non-ionising radiation safety, preferably with a strong grounding in physics or other discipline with a strong physics content. Working within Defence Radiation Protections Services, the successful candidate will be required to undertake frequent visits to customer facilities to perform safety assurance visits, measurements, attend meetings and deliver training. The successful candidate will also be required to provide technical leadership in areas such as training development and technical working groups.In addition, you will support the development of non-ionising radiation protection policy and guidance at MOD-wide and service level, provide non-ionising radiation protection advice for complex exposure situations, design training and work with stakeholders across MOD to enhance non-ionising radiation safety for our armed forces.A degree in Physics or a closely related subject which includes electromagnetic theory and optics / laser physics.
